Do I have to ‘top up’ my CityCycle membership like a go card?

No. Your CityCycle account is linked to your valid credit card during the sign up process. Usage fees (if applicable) are debited from your credit card on a monthly basis. Your TransLink go card balance is not used to hire a CityCycle.

Do I have to ‘touch off’ my go card from CityCycle after use?

No. You only need to swipe your go card and enter your PIN when hiring your bike. You do not need to swipe (or touch off) your go card when you return your bike to a CityCycle station.

What if I lose my go card or it is stolen?

If your registered go card is lost or stolen, call TransLink on 13 12 30 immediately to protect your balance. TransLink can then arrange a new go card and transfer your deposit and travel balance from the old card to your new card. It will usually take 24 hours, but allow up to 10 working days. If your card is not registered and is lost or stolen, your balance is not protected and –you will need to buy a new go card.

You can block your go card and get a refund by completing the go card guide to balance transfers and refunds form online at www.translink.com.au

I’m under 17 and have a go card – can I use CityCycle?

No. CityCycle terms and conditions state you must be 17 years of age and over to use CityCycle.

If my CityCycle membership lapses, can I still use my go card on TransLink public transport services?

Yes – your go card will continue to function as normal on the TransLink public transport network.

Can someone use my go card to hire a bike without my knowledge?

No, when setting up your CityCycle membership you will be prompted to create a 4 digit PIN number. Please remember your PIN and DO NOT SHARE this information with anyone. You must enter your PIN at a CityCycle station, before you can hire a bike.

Do TransLink operators have access to all my personal information?

Information about your CityCycle account is not shared with TransLink staff and no information about your TransLink account is shared with CityCycle.

Can I use my go card to add another person to my CityCycle membership?

No. Each CityCycle membership must be linked to a separate access card. Each person must have their own CityCycle membership and memberships are not transferable.
