Is it possible to choose the subscription start date?

For annual and 3-month subscriptions, you cannot specify the date your subscription starts. If you have an Express Card, your subscription begins from the date your application is processed. Otherwise, your subscription starts five days after your application is processed (to allow for postage of your Classic Card).
For casual subscribers, you can choose the date and time of the subscription as many as 15 days in advance.
For example if you’re planning a trip to Brisbane in 10 days, you can pre-purchase your daily or weekly subscription prior to arrival.

When is the security deposit debited?

The security deposit of $330 is only debited in the event of theft or failure to return the bike within 24 hours. In case of a problem, you can contact the call centre on 1300 CCYCLE (1300 229 253) between 8.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

How can I renew my subscription?

You will receive a subscription renewal notice by email 15 days before your CityCycle subscription expires. To renew your subscription, simply follow the online re-subscription process by logging into the “My Account” section of the website.
If you have any subscription and account queries contact our CityCycle Call Centre on 1300 CCYCLE (1300 229 253) between 8.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, or complete the online email form.

How do I pay for usage after the free half-hour?

If you are an annual or 3-month subscriber, your account will be debited once a month for any hire charges incurred.
If you are a casual subscriber, the charge is automatically debited from your credit or debit card at the end of the subscription period.

What is the difference between the subscription charge and the service charge?

The subscription charge is the one-off fee which provides access to the CityCycle service.
For all subscribers, the first 30 minutes of every journey is free. Hire or service charges only apply if you keep a bike for longer than 30 minutes.

I am a 3-month or annual subscriber how do I access the CityCycle service?

CityCycle is accessed via a CityCycle card for 3 month and annual subscribers. When you subscribe, you choose either to receive a Classic Card (by mail) or to use an Express Card, available from one of our distribution points.
Annual and 3-month subscribers cannot use CityCycle until they have received their CityCycle subscription card or linked their express card to their account.

For classic card subscriptions, allow up to five working days to receive your card and welcome pack. Your CityCycle account is automatically credited with five extra days on top of your subscription period to cover postage and handling.

What is the CityCycle refund policy?

Please choose carefully. CityCycle does not give refunds if you change your mind or make a wrong decision.

You can choose between a refund, exchange or credit where goods are faulty, have been wrongly described or are different to the product purchased on the website.

How does an express card work?

1. Pick up an Express Card from one of our distribution points.
2. Log onto www.citycycle.com.au
3. Under the Subscribe tab select you preferred subscription (3-Month or Annual Subscription). Then select the Express Card option and go through the subscription process.
4. After successful completion of your subscription, you will be emailed, a subscriber number and a Link Number (also called Association Code in your subscription summary).
5. Go to any CityCycle station, scan your Express card and follow the prompts. You will have to enter your subscriber number, then enter your Link Number and finally your PIN to link your card to your account.
6. Now just grab a helmet and start riding!

I am a casual subscriber; can I use an express card?

No. Express cards are only accessible to long-term subscribers.

Can I use the CityCycle scheme without a subscription?

No. A CityCycle subscription must be purchased in order to access the scheme and there are a number of options available to you depending on your intended use. Once a CityCycle subscription is purchased, you can hire and return a bike at any CityCycle station within the network.
Subscribers can ride all day for free, as long as the bikes are returned within half-hour intervals. After this half-hour of free use expires, a service charge applies.
