How to use CityCycle

CityCycle is an integral component of Brisbane’s public and active transport system, Conveniently located close to bus, train and ferry connections, and is a great way to get around the inner city and nearby suburbs. It is not long term bike hire.
Each rider is required to have their own Casual Pass or Membership; these can be purchased online at www.citycycle.com.au. Once the signup, and payment is complete, you will be sent a confirmation email with the details you will need to access the bikes. With a CityCycle Casual Pass or Membership, you can hire, and return a bike, at any terminal within the CityCycle network. Once you pay the access fee you can ride all day for free, as long as the bikes are returned within 30 minute intervals. After this half-hour of free use expires, a usage fee applies.

Why have I received a charge on my credit card?

Please refer to Usage Fees for further information on any charges associated with the scheme. Remember any trip under 30 minutes is free however hire charges will apply when the rental period exceeds 30 minutes.
You can see the log of your past trips by logging into the My Account section of the website or our free app AllBikesNow.
Please direct any of your membership and account queries to our CityCycle Contact Centre on 1300 CCYCLE (1300 229 253) between 7:30am and 5:30pm, 7 days a week, or complete the online email form.

What are Usage Fees?

The first 30 minutes of each journey is included in your purchase fee. There are Usage Fees for keeping a CityCycle for over 30 minutes. After this half-hour of free use expires, a usage fee applies. Below is a table of usage fees. To avoid these fees, remember to dock your bike within 30 minutes, wait a minute for the return to register in our system (this resets the free 30 minute period), then take the same, or another CityCycle, for another 30 minutes. This increases availability for other users, and helps with the circulation of the CityCycles.

First 30 minutes of any journey FREE
31 mins to 60 mins AUD $2
Every additional 30 mins AUD $5
